Brian was born on 13/8/1939 in Sydney, left school at the age of 14 started his working life in the Leather Industry as a Leather Classer Cutter, from there he become an Apprentice in the Printing Industry as a Retoucher Dot Etcher now known as Graphic Designers. Basically it is the same technology as used in Photoshop only it was done by hand and eye skills and you needed a diploma in art. Consequently Brian obtained a diploma at East Sydney Art College after 5 years as well as four years at TAFE. He was fortunate to work with artists throughout the industry, as Commercial Artist shared the same section of the industry as the Graphic Designers. To do the trade of graphic reproduction you had to know colour, tone, and design. Brian Spent 50 years in the industry before retiring to Bonny Hills, Port Macquarie.
His interest in Art has never waned. He and His Wife Rita Carosi joined the Hasting Valley Fine Art Association shortly after establishing themselves at Bonny Hills in 2000. Brian first started painting in Oils and then moved to Acrylic and Pastel, But then found the wonders of Watercolour and most of his work produced is in that medium.
Brian has been recognized a number of times in exhibitions for his work ranging from First Prize, Highly Commended and Commended. He has attended most of the workshops organized by the Association to improve his skills and has sold his work at a number of exhibitions and galleries in Sydney, Raymond Terrace, Taree, and port Macquarie. Brian has also done a number of commission paintings.
Brian also assists in organizing the HVFAA Exhibitions at least four times a year and has been the President of the HVFAA for the last four Years.
