We have a Mission!

Forster Film Festival has two missions: to make available a venue and event where locally-made short films can be shown to the general public (criteria for inclusion in the event include entertainment value, originality and creativity; criteria specific to each prize can be found on the website); and to encourage and support the learning of skills involved in film making.

But Wait, there’s More…

In response to public demand, there are more showings of Best Of The Fest short films at Pacific Palms Rec Club (May 31), Great Lakes Library (July 7), Wingham District Memorial Services Club (July 12), Manning Regional Art Gallery Taree (July 19), Forster Bowling Club (July 26), Tea Gardens Grange (July 30), Laurieton United Servicemens Club (August 2), Tea Gardens Hotel (August 23) and Gloucester Barrington Hall (September 13).

Forster Film Festival 2007

Forster Film Festival was a huge success in 2007, showing 70 short films from Australia and overseas during five screening sessions held over the September/October long weekend.

The event was a great showcase for the local area, encouraging local filmmakers and displaying local scriptwriting, acting and directing talent, as well as engaging the community in topical local issues.

Strongly supported by local media, the entire Festival was completely sold out.

Forster Film Festival is now an annual event, chaired by John Weate and underwritten by Community Resources with major sponsorship from eco-developer Seven Mile Beach and major support from MidCoast Water, Great Lakes Council, Great Lakes Tourism, & Forster Local Aboriginal Land Council.
