I am a versatile Artist living in Port Macquarie, a member of the Hastings Valley Fine Art Association, and a founding member of “The Hastings Art Trail”. My passion for painting is mainly in Watercolor and my work can always be inspected at my home Studio/Gallery where everyone is welcome by appointment.
Upon leaving school I studied at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney and moved to Port Macquarie in 1987. I then completed and gained the highest result in a 12 month Diploma Art Course with the then Hastings District School of Art.
Well known local artist Mr Bob Smith became my Watercolor Tutor for many years. Several week long painting workshops with world renowned artist Mr Robert Wade, and also Mr Greg Allen, one of Australia’s best Watercolorists afforded invaluable training.
I constantly strive to improve my technique and style with involvement in regular painting workshops, as well as producing appealing works in Pen and Ink with Color Washes.
Although my Watercolor style is generally realistic in faithfully capturing the light, colors and mood of the subject, I also find it stimulating and rewarding to create colorful and thought provoking Contemporary/Abstract pieces on Canvas, using Acrylics and Oils.
Using only Artist Quality materials and professional framing ensures long life and enjoyment of my works which reflect fond memories of overseas travel, particularly to Italy, Greece, the U.K. and more recently to Turkey. Favorite subjects that give me inspiration are the character and style of old Australian farm buildings, rural landscape and river and beach scenes.
My work is regularly on exhibit at the very pleasant ” PINNATA GALLERY ” located in Dorrigo, NSW, as well as at ” MYSTIC BLUE ” Gift Shop & Framers in Port Macquarie.
