PAINTPAK is artistically driven by identical twin brothers: B-Boy Seiz (James Moulton) and Exit (Bill Moulton). They write here about their past and influences:
When we first saw the American film “Beat Street” it changed our lives. There was a lot of Hip Hop in the media during the early eighties. We both enjoyed art, and the energy of Hip Hop became our destiny. It was real, told the truth, and it was inevitable. In 1989 we founded, and produced for some years, Australia’s (and one of the world’s first) full colour Hip Hop magazines called “HYPE”. We constantly breakdanced, representing Australia, toured Europe twice and performed with many big names in the culture. We also painted a mural on a Hannover (Germany) Police Station.
Hip Hop is our life.
Recently, we took the freedom of painting the streets into a new dimension by conforming to the size of a canvas. We tried many different formats, all showing a variety of styles throughout the past 20 or so years. We were also lucky enough to paint with “Phantast” and work on freeway murals, such as the faces at Palm Beach in Queensland. Many Australians have seen and admired our work in this arena. Seiz and I vary so much in our styles, but we hope you enjoy what you see Over the years there have been several police convictions, lots of late nights, and hard-working dedication.
We hope that you enjoy our work.
