Rod Howard is an Australian author and writer who has recently emigrated with his family to Bellingen from Melbourne.
Rod is currently researching and writing a biography of Australia’s first novelist, the transported convict Henry Savery, with the assistance of an Australia Council Literature grant.
Rod’s last book, The Fabulist, was published by Random House Australia in August 2006. The book is a narrative non-fiction account of the life and times of the extraordinary hoaxer, Louis De Rougemont. Film rights to The Fabulist have now been optioned by Australian production company, Essential Viewing.
Rod’s previous work includes fiction and non-fiction books, feature articles and essays in Australian newspapers and magazines.
