I was born in England in 1964 and immigrated with my family to Australia in 1966 , my Grandfather was a school teacher and painted as a hobby, my Mother encouraged me to draw as a child and I enjoyed art electives at school, I concentrated on woodwork and agriculture as I planned work the family farm when I left school.
After a downturn in the farming industry I found work in the hospitality, building and quarrying industries and have always tried to juggle time to draw and paint.
I have exhibited my works in the local shows over the years and was a finalist in the 2006 Country Energy Art prize, I was also fortunate to participate in the 2008 Gloucester Art Trail and had my first major solo exhibition – what we see & what we feel in June 2009 at Gloucester.
I am mostly self taught but did attend a couple of WEA short courses in Newcastle a few years ago with Ron Hartree who was very encouraging, it was great to work in a group with shared interest and do something you love.
I have worked in various mediums: Pencil, Pen & Ink, Oils, Water Colour, Acrylics and some Airbrush.
I have lived in the Stroud area for 31 years and am still inspired by the regions beauty, and variation through the change of seasons.
Some paintings below were inspired from dreams, I do not know why I received the images but I was strongly compelled to paint them and now show them.
Art is a continuing journey of discovery for me and an opportunity to communicate beyond words.
