Coffs Harbour Conservatorium presents
- PlayerLink - An initiative
of the Sydney Symphony's extensive education program, Playerlink
caters to student's aged 10 to 18. The project acts as a platform
for aspiring music students to go on to more advanced training
programs such as the Sydney Sinfonia and the SSO Fellowship
program.
In Playerlink young players take part in three days of intensive
workshops and explore ensemble playing, musical interpretation
and technical accuracy. The opportunity to play alongside
and rub shoulders with members of Australia's premier orchestra
provides students with a valuable insight into the world of
a professional musician says Carol Helmers. The Conservatorium
is delighted to support the project and thrilled that a local
school, John Paul College, have offered their support by providing
the venue for the project.
Playerlink will conclude with a "Work in Progress"
Public Concert showcasing the entire orchestra of over 80
players. The event will take place at John Paul College, Hogbin
Drive at 1pm on Sunday 31 August in the Main Hall. Entry is
by gold coin donation with all proceeds being generously donated
by Principal Ian Walton to the Conservatorium for future music
projects
