Heritage Projects (Jobs Fund) - Apply
now! - Applications close: 22 May 2009
Minister Peter Garrett recently announced
that $60 million had been allocated for Heritage projects under
the Jobs Programme section of the Economic Stimulus Package.
As part of this $60 million, the Federation of Australian Historical
Societies has urged that $10 million be allocated as a small
grants programme aimed at community organisations such as historical
and heritage societies and historical museums. This has now
been agreed to and the small grants will be between $20,000
and $100,000 each. Applications have now been called - see the
Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and Arts website.
Please note, the Application Form and Guidelines were designed
for a wide range of programmes, including projects costing millions
of dollars. They are therefore very long and complicated. You
should fill in as much as you can, but not every section will
be essential. Do not be put off; this is a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity to get a grant for a substantial project. It is
worth a special effort! The Department welcomes calls on 1800
653 004 - you may save yourself a bit of time by ringing to
discuss your project first. Good luck!!

May, Bellingen Memorial Hall.
Pull on your sturdy boots or strap on your heels, whichever
your preference let\'s step over that often invisible boundary
and \'Walk on the Wild Side\'. Bellingen Playback Theatre
Co. invites you to their next public performance to Explore
for Treasures found in the untamed, uncivilized, uncontrolled,
disordered, overgrown, and rampant reaches of Life. This special
expedition will be led by the Conductor who facillitates the
sharing of experiences, dilemmas or events from the lives
of the Audience Members (relax you don\'t have to tell),
thereby creating a Map of sorts. The intrepid actors and musician

Map, using various dramatic techniques including improvised
dialogue, movement, song, and dance. You will be led, via
Storytelling, into the unique landscape of Improvised Theatre.
