Arts Mid North Coast is pleased
to announce the creative industries research project, which aims to gather
a body of research which demonstrates the economic vitality of the region's
creative industries sector. The project also aims to address potential
areas for improvement as well as support required needs.
Mid North Coast based consultancy
Evolve Network Australia has coordinated the project. Evolve Network
project coordinator Kerry Grace says:
"People involved in all aspects of creative industries were invited
to take part in the project. They participated in a number of ways including
surveys, forums and interviews."
Richard Holloway, project
principal and Regional Arts Development Officer for Arts Mid North Coast
says:
"The Creative Industries Research Project gave us the opportunity
to gather baseline research which will help us to understand the true
economic value of creative industries in the region. The data collected
has provided us with ideas for future development of the industry as
well as a contact base to establish opportunities for collaboration,
mentoring programs and even create jobs."
The project is funded by
the Departmentof State and Regional Development, NSW Government Department
of Premier and Cabinet, Southern Cross University, University of Newcastle,
TAFE North Coast Institute and Port Macquarie Hastings Council. The
project is supported by Arts Mid North Coast.
