In this aspect Handsonskin is an intentional community of artists and musicians
who gather in a circle to drum and dance. The drumming is hand drumming
using African djembes mainly but talking drums, frame drums, tablas and
a variety of percussion instruments are used. The music ranges from specific
African drum rhythms to organic World music. The dance is ecstatic trance
dance yet includes belly dancing and freeform. Drummers and dancers each
are better fused into an entrained whole by one another.
