Discover Coffs’ Old Masters (and Mistress)
An exhibition of our best fine-artists 24-26 Feb
See the six top fine-arts teachers at Coffs TAFE strut their stuff. Masters in their fields, teachers of our budding young artists: this is their chance to show us their mastery!
Phil Greed works with clay. He is inspired by the wild, crazy foliage of the Pandanus Palm to create pieces with unique texture and shapes.
Ray Rixon is a painter. His dramatic works develop “from the inside out” in an attempt to capture the essence of energy and transformation.
John van der Kolk is a sculptor. He works mainly in local woods and has been inspired by travels through Africa and the Middle East.
John Mawhinney is a ceramicist. His work is complex and endeavours to reveal that systems within systems that exist in nature.
JP Willis is inspired by the mandalas of Bhuddism and Hinduism. Bright red; acid yellow; leaf green. His colours are bright, exciting, electric!
Terri Butterworth is a painter. The focus of her work is landscape, seeking inspiration form feelings, sense of place, mood and atmosphere.
No theme has been set, no instructions given….these masters have been given a free hand to create according to their own hearts and creative souls. We have no idea what to expect except that it’s going to be great.
