| - Short Sharp Film Festival Inc - Looking For Volunteers | | Short Sharp Film Festival Inc - Looking For Volunteers - The Janison Short Sharp Film Festival is entering its 4th year. After sell-out screenings this year, the Committee is looking for help to keep this festival going. All positions on the Committee are volunteer positions and the AGM will be held in November so there is an opportunity for new people to become involved - film festival experience not needed, just spare time and enthusiasm. The festival takes a year's worth of effort so we need some help now. We are particularly looking for someone to help as the secretary of Committee, preferably someone who is not working full-time and has some computer skills. It would require about 2 hours each week. Also, people with media or marketing skills to help promote the festival. For more information go to wwww.shortsharpfilmfest.com or email info@shortsharpfilmfest.com |

| - The Friends of Sawtell Cinema (FOSC) | | The Friends of Sawtell Cinema (FOSC) was formed recently to help the cinema recover from damage caused by flooding, and to ensure that this iconic institution retains its eminent position in Sawtell village. Since its formation only weeks ago, the membership of the Friends' group has grown rapidly, showing that there is great interest in ensuring its viability and helping to develop a more involved cinema-going public.
For an annual membership of $50, each Friend is entitled to a ticket price of $7 for all screenings except fundraisers; regular newsletters; special screenings and film-related events. The main objective is to raise funds for the purchase of a digital projector, which would enable much earlier screenings of popular movies than is currently possible, and special screenings such as the classics.
