Since Arts Mid North Coast was established in late 1999 many visual
artists and craftsworkers have asked us for assistance. At meetings
and events around the region artists have told us they wanted more exhibition
and sales opportunities for their work locally, nationally and internationally,
and that they needed business, marketing and promotion skills and materials
to get there.
This survey project has been developed to provide this support for
artists. The analysis of the information arising from this survey will
assist Arts Mid North Coast, working in partnership with the Visual
Arts and Crafts sector, to develop strategies to progress the sector
and seek State and Federal Government funding support for the benefit
of all artists and craftsworkers across the Mid North Coast region.
Arts Mid North Coast acknowledges Arts Northern Rivers and the Northern
Rivers Visual Art Network for allowing us to use the survey instrument
developed and used so successfully in the Northern Rivers region
Why a questionnaire?
We need to gather information to provide an accurate picture of the
Mid North Coast visual arts and crafts community and to find out what
artists need. With over 700 visual artists and associated businesses
on our database it is impossible to conduct face-to-face interviews
with everyone. A questionnaire will give us a snap shot of the sector
and help us tailor the project to your needs.
Who will see this information?
We understand that some of the questions in the survey may be considered
personal and confidential. All information will be subject to strict
privacy conditions. None of the raw information gathered will be revealed
to anyone apart from the Arts Mid North Coast project team. Any results
from the questionnaire included in the project plan and reports will
be supplied as average figures with no results connected to any individual.
Can I remain anonymous?
Yes, however we do need information about you as an individual artist
to offer you support that is both relevant and appropriate, whether
you are an experienced or emerging artist. All questions are optional
however we do encourage you to fill in all the questions including name
and contact details on the questionnaire.
Returning the questionnaire.
Once you have completed the questionnaire please mail it back to Arts
Mid North Coast using the pre-paid, stamped, addressed envelope provided.
